Here is a copy of the article about the Kellogg Child Development Center which was published in the Annals of the American Academy of Political and Social Science:

The Kellogg Child Development Center:

High-Quality Child Care

ABSTRACT: After a 10-year, hands-on study of high-quality child care both in the United States and abroad, Lorna Kellogg founded a child care program intended to be a model for high standards in the field. The Kellogg Child Development Center of Boulder, Colorado, in less than four years of operation, has become renowned for its deceptively simple solutions to some of the largest problems that plague child care centers in general. This success has enabled the center to begin actively pursuing the second half of its mission, to improve the quality of care provided in child care centers everywhere. It is Lorna Kellogg’s firm belief that it is absolutely possible for every child growing up outside of his or her home to have high-quality, affordable child care.

Lorna Kellogg has been giving coaching and parenting talks and keynote speeches for over twenty five years.  Drawing on her decades of coaching and child development experience, she combines an enourmous amount of relevant content with good humor and plenty of time for questions.  She has coached educators and legislators on issues related to early childhood education and child development and worked with thousands of parents. Between 1994 and 2001 over 300 teachers and early childhood educators went through her teacher training and/or intern program at the Kellogg Child Development Center which was used as the case study for high quality early care and education in the United Sates by the American Academy of Political and Social Science. The Kellogg Teacher Training Method emerged from this era of coaching teachers and parents. The Kellogg Method is (academic) research based with a strong emphasis on utilizing one's intuition in a logical, skillful way.  Woven into the trainings are Lorna's expertise, practical experience, deep knowledge and education from some of the top coaching institutes in the country.

We are in the process of expanding our Speaker’s Bureau. If you are interested in hiring a member of the Kellogg Coaching Institute to give a talk or keynote speech please call 303-494-1107 for more information.
